“Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease.” ~ Hippocrates
Last month I wrote an article about loving ourselves as the best way to begin taking our personal power back. Working in progressive empowered healthcare, I wanted to take this opportunity to expound upon how being personally empowered also reaches into our health and wellbeing.
As a society, we have been trained to behave in a certain way in regards to health. Specifically, we abuse our bodies by eating whatever whenever, smoking, drinking, lounging around in front of the television or the computer, and/or working to the point of stress and exhaustion. When our bodies begin to shout at us, “enough is enough,” by way of fatigue, anxiety, obesity, pain, diabetes, and other dis-eases, then we go to the doctor and expect him/her to “heal” us by way of a magical prescription.
Traditional reactive medicine has allowed us, if not encouraged us, to give our power away to “healthcare” providers and pharmaceutical companies. The Truth is that everything you need to walk in abundant, infinite health is within you. You need not give the power of your health and wellbeing away.
“Health and peace are the natural state when that which prevents them is removed.”
~ Dr. Wayne W. Dyer – The Power of Intention
So, where do we begin to take our health back? By resetting our intention to do so, by immersing our mind and our heart in gratitude for our day, for our breath, for the sun, for the opportunity. Then, we begin to affirm, “I am already healed, I am in perfect health,” even when all evidence to the contrary is staring us in the face. This is where faith meets the road, so to speak. We engage our faith by stepping into the vision of what health and wellbeing looks like, what it feels like.
When we retrain our minds and shift our perspective to name it and claim it, our behavior begins to shift into alignment with our beliefs, which leads us to want to nourish, engage, listen to and love our bodies back into health.
“If you bring forth what is inside you, what you bring forth will save you.
If you don’t bring forth what is inside you, what you don’t bring forth will destroy you.”
~ Jesus of Nazareth
You are the magic pill, and my wish for you is to take the power of your health back.
NOTE: By no means am I encouraging or condoning the disregard of medical treatment and attention, but rather to encourage you to shift your perspective to that which honors your healthcare provider as your partner in your health and well-being, not the end all solution to your dis-ease.
